Scott Harris is a Wealth & Estate Planning Advisor and co-founder of Stonehaven Financial Group.  With over 20 years of experience working with high-performing entrepreneurs and professionals from across the country, he helps clients grow and secure their wealth by taking action on every advantage available to strengthen their position.

 

Having studied History and Economics at the University of British Columbia, Scott was attracted to the financial services business as an opportunity to practice in a field where he could have a significant positive impact on the lives of those he serves.

 

Scott began his career in Vancouver, British Columbia working with one of the largest insurance companies in Canada.  In 1999 he moved his practice to Toronto and co-founded Stonehaven Financial Group Inc (SFG) as an independent and comprehensive financial advisory firm.  Today, SFG is a full-service, multi-advisor firm offering solutions for strategic Wealth Management, Multigenerational Wealth Transfer, Estate Planning, Corporate Planning and Employee Benefit Services.  Since 2009, Scott and the Stonehaven team have been registered with Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) Registered Investment Dealers, in order to serve the growing need for wider investment choice and improve on their full-service platform.  In 2018, the team became partners with Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc.(wellington-altus.ca/) a world-class investment dealer.

 

Scott is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and an approved Investment Advisor (IA).  With a specific interest in the development of strong educational programs for the financial services business, he has assisted industry boards and committees with these programs. He has served on the Advocis Committee for the Ontario School Program and been a returning guest speaker at the schools.  In January 2015 became a member of the the Advisory Council to the Wealth & Estate Planning Group.

 

In the community Scott’s volunteer work has included hands-on participation at North York General Hospital, coaching AAA Minor Hockey and House League Baseball, along with mentoring students at University of Toronto. Scott served on the Board at his golf club and was a two term President.  Stonehaven is also a Member of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.

 

Scott resides in Aurora with his wife and three children and enjoys many things in life, including all sports, good food, travel and coaching.
